AT&T Boosts Network Speeds for Iron County

AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Iron County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell tower will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network.1

This new site will enhance AT&T’s coverage and capacity in areas southeast of Belleview.

“For folks living in rural areas, a robust wireless network may be even more important than for those living in major cities,” said state Sen. Holly Thompson Rehder (District 27). “With so many people relying on their smartphones to stay in touch with friends and family, connect to the Internet, and conduct business, this new wireless site is very welcome. Announcements like this highlight the importance of public policies that make Missouri a state which welcomes private investment in advanced technology.”

The new site will also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet®. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

“We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected,” said Jeremy Ketterer, Regional Director of External Affairs for AT&T Missouri. “AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and secure connectivity to more than 281 million people in over 22,000 cities and towns nationwide, including Iron County. This helps residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play.

From 2019 to 2021, AT&T invested more than $2 billion in its wireless and wireline networks in Missouri. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and their businesses.
