Boosting Connection on Long Island

We know how important it is for our customers on Long Island to stay connected. That’s why we continue to invest in our network infrastructure on Long Island to help ensure that residents, businesses and visitors stay connected year-round.

Over the past five years, AT&T has completed more than 170 new sites on Long Island. Additionally, more than 350 upgrade projects deployed high-speed 5G+ (CBAND).

In the past year alone, AT&T has installed 12 new cell sites in central and eastern Long Island and completed upgrades to 75 additional sites to help bring enhanced service and coverage to residents, visitors and first responders. These projects were completed in places including East Hampton, Holbrook, Mastic, Ronkonkoma, Smithtown, South Hampton, and Westbury.

From 2021 to 2025, AT&T invested nearly $310 million in our wireless network in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance to help residents, businesses, and visitors get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work, and play.

And we have a responsibility unlike any other network provider to support public safety’s mission by bringing New York’s first responders greater access to reliable connectivity.

Created by the U.S. Congress, FirstNet®, Built with AT&T was shaped by the first responder community’s vision following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It is built with AT&T in public-private partnership with the FirstNet Authority – an agency within the federal government.

Across the state, we’re connecting public safety agencies and organizations in more than 1,645 localities.

On Long Island, 430 cell sites support first responders and the extended public safety community on FirstNet– America’s public safety network – by bringing Band 14 spectrum to the area.

Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane, delivering truly dedicated connectivity when needed. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

Our investment on Long Island also extends to the broader community. Last year, we launched a new Connected Learning Center (CLC) at the United Way of Long Island in Deer Park. This was the first CLC on Long Island, and one of 14 AT&T CLC’s currently launched around the Empire State. The Deer Park CLC provides internet access and high-quality educational tools, job training, modern technology and programming to students of UWLI’s YouthBuild Program.

Our connection on Long Island keeps growing, and that means helping more people, businesses, and communities get connected to more opportunities.
