AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Boone County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell tower will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network.1
This new site will enhance AT&T’s coverage and capacity in northern Columbia and the surrounding area.
“As a small business owner and a parent, I understand the critical importance of reliable wireless networks, both for keeping families connected and for powering economic growth,” said state Sen. Caleb Rowden (District 19). “And it is particularly important for those outside major cities, whether in rural areas or small or mid-sized towns. I’m committed to continuing to work with my legislative colleagues to preserve the public policies that encourage the investment of private capital and lead to announcements like this for Missouri.”
The new site will also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet®. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

From 2019 to 2021, AT&T invested more than $2 billion in its wireless and wireline networks in Missouri. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and their businesses.
