AT&T Boosts Network Speeds for Humphreys County

AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Humphreys County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell tower will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network.1

This new site will enhance AT&T’s coverage and capacity in areas along U.S. Highway 70 between Waverly and Denver.

“As a small business owner and a parent, I understand the importance of a strong wireless network for keeping people connected, providing educational opportunities and supporting economic growth,” said Tennessee state Rep. Jay Reedy (District 74). “Announcements like this illustrate why I continually work with my legislative colleagues to preserve the public policies that encourage the investment of private capital here in Tennessee.”

The new site will also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet®. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected,” said Kathy Sager, Regional Director of External Affairs for AT&T Tennessee. “AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and secure connectivity to more than 290 million people in over 24,000 cities and towns nationwide, including Humphreys County. This helps residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play.”

From 2020-2022, AT&T invested nearly $1.4 billion in its wireless and wireline networks in Tennessee to connect more people to greater possibility.
