AT&T Boosts Network Speeds for Fleming County

AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Fleming County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell tower will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network.1

This new site will enhance AT&T’s coverage and capacity in the Beechburg community and surrounding area, including along State Route 559 between Flemingsburg and Wallingford.

“As a farmer and someone who calls rural Kentucky home, I know firsthand how critical access to communications technology is to our rural communities,” said Kentucky state Rep. Matthew Koch (District 72). “Beyond simply providing a lifeline for those working alone, wireless technology delivers information those of us in agriculture need to make crucial decisions when and where needed. Today’s announcement is why the legislature has devoted the past six years passing policies that attract economic investment and expanding technology.”

The new site will also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet®. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

“We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected,” said Hank Mangeot, Regional Director of External Affairs for AT&T Kentucky. “AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and secure connectivity to more than 290 million people in over 24,000 cities and towns nationwide, including Fleming County. This helps Kentucky residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play.”

From 2020-2022, AT&T invested nearly $725 million in its wireless and wireline networks in Kentucky to connect more people to greater possibility. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and their businesses.
