AT&T Boosts Network Speeds for Cross County

AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Cross County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell site will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network.1

This new site will improve capacity and coverage in Wynne and the surrounding area.

“As this community continues to rebuild and recover from the March tornado, one of the key needs is strong, reliable wireless service,” said State Sen. Ronald Caldwell (District 10). “This will help people reconnect with each other and the community while also helping to drive economic growth. This announcement illustrates why I continually work with my legislative colleagues to enact and maintain policies which encourage investment in advanced communication technologies.”

These enhancements also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet® and is essentially public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

“We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected,” said Lisa Lake, Director of External Affairs, AT&T Arkansas. “And AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and secure connectivity to more than 290 million people in over 24,000 cities and towns nationwide. This helps Arkansas residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play.”

From 2020 to 2022, AT&T invested nearly $725 million in our wireless and wireline networks in Arkansas. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and their businesses.
