What’s new: In Georgia, we invested more than $18.2 billion in our network from 2021 to 2025. This investment is expanding the modern infrastructure Georgians rely on today and into the future and powering possibilities across our state.

Why it matters: Connectivity is the backbone of today’s innovation economy, shaping our daily life and supporting the safety and resilience of communities nationwide. By investing in communities across the country, we are expanding access, strengthening infrastructure and unlocking greater economic opportunity for Georgians — fueling business growth, creating jobs and helping more people participate in the modern economy.

What they’re saying: “Georgia is proud to be the No. 1 state for business, and continued investments like this from partners like AT&T help us keep that coveted ranking,” said Governor Brian Kemp. “This latest contribution will further strengthen our communities by supporting economic development and public safety, as well as expanding opportunity in rural parts of our state. I’m grateful to AT&T for helping even more Georgians prosper.”

“Georgia’s strong, pro-business environment continues to create opportunities for meaningful investment and innovation. At AT&T, we are proud to provide the modern communications networks that connect communities, support economic growth and help businesses of all sizes thrive,” said Riley Blount, President, AT&T Georgia. “Our investment also strengthens the critical infrastructure first responders rely on every day to keep Georgians safe. We are proud to invest in Georgia and work alongside leaders across the state to support continued growth and success.”

How we’re making it happen in Georgia: Committed to expanding connectivity, our investment focuses on all facets of the network — including fiber, 5G and FirstNet,® Built with AT&T.

  • Expanding access to fiber: To help meet the demands for reliable, high-speed connections today — and into the future — we continuously invest in our fiber network. With more than 7.5 million fiber strand miles across Georgia, AT&T Fiber® is now available to more than 2 million customer locations in more than 155 Georgia communities.
    • AT&T Fiber® now reaches nearly 37 million consumer and business locations.
    • When public entities team with trusted providers, more Americans are connected to greater opportunity. In Georgia, we have collaborated with state and local leaders and continue to bring AT&T Fiber to more parts of the state.
  • Building networks for the next century: To reach our goal and help our customers upgrade to faster, more reliable services, we are actively investing in modern networks that will power us for the next century. We are working to exit copper-based services in the majority of our wireline footprint by the end of 2029. Throughout the transition, no customer will lose access to voice or 911 services. We continue to prioritize our customers and are working with them to make the transition from copper to newer technologies like AT&T Phone-Advanced, a digital phone service that uses our reliable wireless network and any broadband connection as a backup, as easy as possible for our customers.
    • Today, AT&T Phone-Advanced is available throughout our footprint markets across 21 states, including Georgia.
  • Unlocking the power of 5G: From rural communities to urban areas, our overall wireless voice and data network covers more than 99% of all Americans, including more than 95% of Georgians. Our 5G network using low-band spectrum reaches more than 320 million people in more than 27,700 cities and towns in the U.S.
    • We are ramping up performance in high traffic areas, like airports, stadiums and venues, including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena and Truist Park.
    • We are also expanding our 5G network in communities across the state, including Dalton, Evans, LaGrange, Rincon, Toccoa and Thomasville so more Georgians can have access to reliable connectivity.
    • We are working with AST SpaceMobile to offer a full suite of broadband connectivity: voice, data and text in remote, off-grid locations. One day satellite may also support video services.
    • And, we launched AT&T Internet Air, our fixed wireless home internet service delivered over our 5G network, an all-in-one device that powers strong Wi-Fi coverage in homes and small businesses.
  • Connectivity when it matters the most: As public safety’s partner, more first responders choose FirstNet than any other network. We are proud to team with the FirstNet Authority to purpose build a network with and for public safety — providing the reliable, dedicated connectivity they need when and where they need it. We continue to expand FirstNet with purpose-built FirstNet sites — based on direct public safety feedback and network considerations — focused on rural and remote areas of the country. We are also launching the first mission-critical push-to-talk platform (PTT), FirstNet Fusion, that can connect teams across virtually any radio system or wireless carrier. A secure, one-stop shop for emergency response coordination, Fusion will eliminate complexities around group communication and bring together critical communications capabilities.
    • In Georgia, we are connecting public safety agencies and organizations in nearly 640 localities across the state.
    • And, we have rolled out Band 14 on more than 2,400 sites across Georgia to provide public safety with truly dedicated coverage and capacity.

And we are not just investing in our network; we are also investing in our communities. AT&T has committed $5 billion by 2030 to narrow the digital divide and help 25 million people get and stay connected to affordable, high-speed internet access and digital resources.

Good news is always great to share. Here are a few highlights of how we are connecting Georgia to greater possibility:
