AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Bourbon County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell tower will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network.¹

This new site will enhance AT&T’s coverage and capacity along State Routes 57 and 627 and in the communities of Austerlitz, Clintonville and Stony Point.

“The changes we are seeing in our education systems, healthcare systems, and even the economy as a whole all point to the need for broadband connectivity,” said Sen. Stephen West (District 27). “For rural areas, in particular, a robust, reliable wireless network is vital. I am pleased to see that our work in the legislature to attract the investment of private capital continues to pay off for the Commonwealth.”

The new site will also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

From 2020-2022, AT&T invested nearly $725 million in its wireless and wireline networks in Kentucky to connect more people to greater possibility.
