A refreshed AT&T ScreenReady®—to help families build safer, healthier digital habits
Key insights
Families today are navigating a digital world that moves fast, spans countless devices, and reaches kids earlier than many of us ever expected. Technology can unlock learning, creativity, and connection—but it also brings real questions for parents and caregivers: When is my child ready for a device? What boundaries make sense? And how do I keep up without it becoming a second job?
That’s why we’re proud to relaunch AT&T ScreenReady®—a refreshed experience designed to make it easier for families to find trusted resources, build confidence using technology, and practice healthy digital habits at every age and stage. ScreenReady is built to be part of the support system for families navigating screens.
What is ScreenReady?
AT&T ScreenReady provides resources, tips and tools to help you and your family build confidence using technology, practice healthy digital habits and fully participate in today’s connected world. Together with expert collaborators, ScreenReady is focused on empowering safe and positive connections on all screens.
The goal is simple: families don’t need more noise—they need clearer pathways. Parents tell us they’re doing the work—researching, asking around, trying tools—but they’re also overwhelmed and short on time. ScreenReady is designed to help cut through that complexity with guidance that’s easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to act on.
ScreenReady is designed to contribute to that broader ecosystem by focusing on education and guidance—helping families make informed choices and build healthy digital habits over time.
What’s new in the ScreenReady relaunch
The updated ScreenReady experience features a streamlined structure and clear pathways, making it easier for families to quickly access the resources that matter most.
Key updates include:
- Simplified navigation organized by audience, including sections for:
- Parents & Caregivers
- Kids & Teens
- Teachers & Educators
- Adults & Seniors
- Quick access to parent resources by age, so caregivers can start with guidance that matches their child’s developmental stage.
- Embedded and curated learning content from The AchieveryTM, AT&T’s free digital learning resource, curated into a more structured experience aligned to ScreenReady priorities.
- Ongoing collaboration with expert organizations and contributors, including partners such as Common Sense Media and the Public Library Association, and plans to incorporate additional expert input through an advisory approach.
The goal is straightforward: Make it easier for families to take the next step—whether that’s setting boundaries, starting a conversation, or learning about a new topic like AI.
Devices to support your family’s needs
For families who are ready to take the next step with a connected device, AT&T offers the amiGO™ family of products, designed to help keep kids safe while giving parents more visibility and control. The AT&T amiGO™ Jr. Phone is a kid-friendly phone created with input from parents and kids, and the amiGO™ Jr. Watch 2 offers another way for families to stay connected if they’re not yet ready for a phone. There’s also the amiGO™ Jr. Tab, a tablet built for younger kids with safe-browsing parameters. With the free AT&T amiGO™ app, parents can manage screen time, apps, settings, location sharing, Safe Zones, and schedules—all from their own phone.
Using ScreenReady to decide when a child is ready for a device
There isn’t one “right” age or a simple yes/no answer—readiness depends on your child, your family routines, and what you need the device to do. ScreenReady is organized into age-based pathways (from littles to teens) so you can start with guidance that fits your child’s stage and build from there.
A helpful place to begin is setting expectations up front: why your child is getting a device, what “good use” looks like, and what the boundaries are around time, apps, and communication. Because kids often move between multiple devices and platforms (and not always with the same settings), it also helps to think beyond a single phone or tablet and consider the broader reality of how your child goes online.
Just as important, ScreenReady emphasizes building skills over time—digital literacy, judgment, and habits that help kids navigate what they see and do online. And since kids’ needs change quickly, it’s designed to be something you revisit as they grow, adjusting rules and supports as independence increases.
Because every child and family is different, ScreenReady is organized by age groups to help caregivers find guidance that fits their situation rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all rule.
A natural moment to talk about connection (and do something practical)
ScreenReady is about meeting families where they already are—and sharing timely, useful support right when it can help most.
Whether you’re deciding when your child is ready for their first device, looking for age-appropriate guidance, or building healthier screen habits as a family, AT&T ScreenReady is designed to meet you where you are—and help you and your family move forward with confidence.
