Teaming Up with Police Athletic League of Philadelphia to Connect Students

For the third year, we teamed up with Human-I-T, the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia (Philly PAL), and professional football great Ron Jaworski’s foundation, Jaws Youth PlayBook, to help kick off the new school year for kids in Philadelphia.

Our team handed out 175 laptops to kids from throughout the city who came to the Harrowgate PAL for the rally, accompanied by Philadelphia Police Officers from each PAL branch. In addition to the laptops, students were able to pick up school supplies, backpacks and more while listening to a police officer-turned-DJ, playing games and earning prizes.

We’ve provided financial support to organizations across the state. And, we’ve distributed 3,400 computers to students and their families across Pennsylvania since 2021, including more than 500 to students who participate in programs at Philly PAL. All told, we will distribute 30,000 laptops nationwide in 2026.
‘Tis the season. Or, more accurately, seasons! And they’re among my favorites: football season and back-to-school season.
Our team was able to celebrate both recently in Philadelphia.

My Philadelphia-area colleagues, Nashara, Joe, and Michael handed out 175 laptops to kids from throughout the city who came to the Harrowgate PAL for the rally, accompanied by Philadelphia Police Officers from each PAL branch. In addition to the laptops, students were able to pick up school supplies, backpacks and more while listening to a police officer-turned-DJ, playing games and earning prizes.
Distributing laptops is part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. We are committing $5 billion to help 25 million people across the country get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
We’ve provided financial support to organizations across the state.
