AT&T California Supports First Responders During COVID-19 Pandemic

Across California, first responders are playing a critical role in caring for their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of AT&T California and the AT&T Foundation’s $3.5 million* in donations to California nonprofit organizations, the company is providing nearly $200,000 in support for first responders and front-line medical professionals.

“Our first responders, who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 response, put their own health and safety on the line every single day.”

“Our first responders, who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 response, put their own health and safety on the line every single day,” said Rhonda Johnson, President-AT&T California.  “They are true heroes who can only keep us safe when they have the tools and resources necessary to keep them safe.”

With AT&T’s support, public safety organizations across the Golden State are able to support first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • LAPD Foundation: Contributions are being used to provide Los Angeles first responders with meals and to help purchase and replenish important Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • San Diego 211: Funding is being used to provide resources for shelter, food, mental health and emergency financial aid for those experiencing economic challenges in San Diego.
  • LAFD Foundation: AT&T’s support is helping provide PPE and food for the LAFD to ensure they have the necessary means to serve their community as efficiently and safely as possible. Click here for video.
  • Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association: Funding is helping provide San Bernardino County’s first responders with the PPE needed to do their jobs.

“Our police officers and first responders are working around the clock on the front lines ensuring that people are safe. We are grateful for AT&T’s support so we can provide and replenish necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) so our first responders can perform their jobs to the best of their ability while responding to the COVID-19 outbreak,” said Dana Katz, Executive Director, Los Angeles Police Foundation.

AT&T’s support is part of AT&T Believes℠, a company-wide effort to make a meaningful impact in local communities. To learn more about how AT&T is supporting communities during the current crisis, visit https://about.att.com/pages/COVID-19.html.
