AT&T Boosts Network Speeds for Bracken County

AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Bracken County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell tower will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network.1

This new site will enhance AT&T’s coverage and capacity to the Johnsonville, Lenoxburg, Willow Grove and Foster communities along the Ohio River.

“In today’s world, the availability of advanced communications is a lifeline for individuals and families, connecting them to education, information and commerce,” said state Sen. Shelley Funke Frommeyer (District 24). “That’s why I continually work for public policies that encourage private investment in technology. I am pleased to see those efforts pay off with this improved wireless coverage.”

The new site will also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected,” said Hank Mangeot, Regional Director of External Affairs for AT&T Kentucky. AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and secure connectivity to more than 290 million people in over 24,000 cities and towns nationwide, including Bracken County. This helps residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play.

From 2020-2022, AT&T invested nearly $725 million in its wireless and wireline networks in Kentucky to connect more people to greater possibility.
