A Pipeline of Spectrum Brings Endless Possibility

5G does more than just keep us connected at home and on the go. It’s also spurring technological innovation across industries that is transforming the way we live, work, and play, deepening our connection to the world around us. Our 5G networks are made possible by access to wireless spectrum.

Hear from President and CEO of CTIA, Meredith Attwell Baker, on the importance of spectrum below.

See just a few ways 5G technologies are working today, and in the future, to connect more Americans to build a better tomorrow.

  • Healthcare: 5G is facilitating enhancements that will transform patient’s experience by enabling improved telehealth appointments with high-quality livestream videoconferencing, and faster remote access to electronic health records.
  • Agriculture: With IoT, dairy farmers can use technology like smart sensors that are ingested by dairy cows and help farmers monitor and manage their herd’s health, reducing costs like vet bills and improving production.
  • Defense: 5G defense project aims to enhance the effectiveness of naval logistics by expediting shipments between naval units and shore facilities, while also offering features such as virtual and augmented reality and high-definition video surveillance.
  • Education: Universities across the country are using 5G to enhance research and innovation on their campuses to help run more efficiently.
