Students in Albuquerque Receive Laptops

As school gets ready to start in Albuquerque, 150 students received laptops, giving them the opportunity to thrive and succeed this school year.

As part of our nationwide commitment to help bridge the digital divide, AT&T worked with Human-I-T and Adelante Development Center to distribute 150 laptops this week to students in need from Edward Gonzales Elementary School and Locker #505, a nonprofit student clothing bank.

Laptops were given throughout the day – it was amazing to see the students pick them up. You could feel the excitement in the room.

Bridging the digital divide requires businesses, nonprofits and government to come together for a once-in-a-generation opportunity to bring high-quality connectivity to millions of people who need it most. Without question, this was a community effort, and we were so proud to be joined by a number of elected officials and other dignitaries. Their attendance shows the importance of what we are doing.

It was truly humbling to be part of this event, knowing we are giving students the opportunity to gain the access they need to participate in online learning and engage in the digital world.
