With summer right around the corner, AT&T kept pace with its ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and connect Southern Indiana.
Access to connectivity is vital in today’s digital world. Our investment in Southern Indiana is about meeting the area’s connectivity needs with access to devices, more fiber availability, and a modern internet experience our customers can count on.
Throughout the Spring, several community collaborations provided hundreds of laptops to Hoosier students and families, while infrastructure announcements marked AT&T Fiber milestones.
For example:
- Lyons: In May, AT&T announced a $25,000 community investment to Wagler Education & Training Center and the donation of 50 refurbished laptops to Wagler students in need.
- Evansville: In June, AT&T surprised graduates of The Excel Center, operated by Goodwill, with refurbished laptops. The Excel Center is a free adult high school designed to support adult learners balancing work, family, and life’s challenges.
- Bloomington: In June, AT&T awarded a $20,000 community investment to South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP) and announced the donation of 100 refurbished laptops to families in need.
As we are investing in the community, we are also investing in our network to ensure residents in Southern Indiana have access to fast, reliable broadband connectivity.
For example, AT&T has built significant AT&T Fiber throughout the City of Bloomington in recent years and is continuing these projects in 2026.
In addition, AT&T is in the final phase of completing a more than $5 million public-private project to expand fiber internet access in Greene County. This public-private collaboration is an example of AT&T’s work with state and local governments to expand internet access. Next Level Connections (NLC) Broadband Grant Program administered by the Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) contributed over $4 million in public funds to the project, and AT&T covered more than $1 million.
When finished, more than 670 new residential and business locations in Greene County will have access to high-speed internet.
These fiber build projects give more residents access to fast, reliable internet built to handle the growing data demand for homes and businesses.
Across Indiana, more than 710,000 customer locations have access to AT&T Fiber. Residents and business owners can find out if AT&T Fiber is available at their address or sign up to be notified by visiting att.com/fiber.
Both fiber and wireless customers are backed by the AT&T Guarantee for the connectivity they depend on. AT&T is also committed to connecting more Americans through Access from AT&T, which offers qualifying households low-cost internet options for AT&T Fiber service.
Between 2021-2025, AT&T invested more than $1.9 billion in its network across Indiana. This helps provide customers with broader fiber and 5G access, faster speeds and more reliable service.
