This milestone is about more than internet speeds. It’s about giving families the bandwidth to learn, work, stream, and stay connected, while helping local businesses operate with the technology they need to serve customers and grow. As demand for data continues to rise, expanding fiber infrastructure is an important part of supporting the future of this region.
Our Greater Des Moines launch follows AT&T’s recent acquisition of substantially all of Lumen’s Mass Markets Fiber Business and reflects our continued investment in Iowa. In fact, this deal will help increase our Iowa fiber build plans by more than 50 percent compared to 2025, creating even more opportunity to connect homes, businesses, and neighborhoods across the state.
For me, this expansion reflects what matters most: building infrastructure that supports everyday life and long-term progress. Reliable, high-speed internet has become essential infrastructure for modern communities, and we’re proud to help meet Iowa’s growing connectivity needs with more fiber availability, more capacity, and an experience customers can count on.

Investing in Digital Opportunity Through Pi515
Alongside this fiber expansion, AT&T is also investing $20,000 in Pursuit of Innovation (Pi515) to support digital literacy programs for high school students. Pi515 is helping underserved youth access technology education, hands-on learning, and career pathways that can shape their future.
The funding will help expand Pi515’s Career Accelerator Program, which gives students access to digital literacy training, career exploration, and professional readiness skills. That kind of support matters. Closing the digital divide is about more than access alone — it’s also about helping people build the confidence and skills to fully participate in today’s connected world.
