At AT&T we believe that ‘connecting changes everything.’ Here in Ohio, this belief is the foundation of our mission to ensure every community can thrive in the digital age.

To accomplish that mission, we work alongside many dedicated organizations and initiatives, all aimed at putting technology, training and resources into the right hands. It is critical to bring together business, nonprofit and government to address the connectivity challenges faced by local families.

In recent months, we’ve put these beliefs into action across Ohio.

  • Gallipolis: AT&T awarded a $30,000 community investment to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO). AT&T also supported the organization last year, bringing the total to $60,000 over the past two years. FAO used the investment to provide digital literacy and digital skills training classes to older adults at the Gallia County Council on Aging. Additionally, residents who participated in the digital skills classes each received a tablet following their completion. To-date, nearly 100 seniors have or will receive tablets and technology training, with an additional 60 seniors still to come.
  • Fremont: AT&T and Camp Fire Sandusky County provided 100 refurbished laptops to elementary and middle school students from Sandusky County. The laptops were made possible through an AT&T investment in support of Camp Fire’s Absolutely Incredible Kid Day® annual holiday. Students received the devices during a family event that also included frozen treats and giveaways.
  • Cleveland: AT&T and Human IT provided Ashbury Senior Computer Community Center (ASC3) 50 refurbished laptops and 250 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to distribute to Cleveland area students in need. The devices and backpacks were distributed during ASC3’s annual neighborhood Back to School Block Party event that also featured music, food trucks and free health screenings. On the same day, AT&T and Esperanza also distributed 50 laptops and 800 backpacks during that organization’s Back to School Celebration.
  • Cuyahoga Community College: AT&T has funded student scholarships and programs at Tri-C for more than 30 years, supporting programs like Fast Track Career and Technical Training. Recently, AT&T joined an employer panel during the statewide “In Demand Jobs Week” to offer insights on career opportunities in a growing job market.
  • East Cleveland: AT&T provided 50 refurbished laptops to East Cleveland residents who completed digital literacy training courses at the East Cleveland Public Library. This announcement was made on the same day we announced that AT&T Fiber is now available to more than 9,000 new residential and business locations in East Cleveland.

From 2021 to 2025, AT&T contributed more than $2.7 million in Ohio to organizations and initiatives focused on closing the digital divide. Additionally, we’ve distributed thousands of computers to students and their families across Ohio since 2021. AT&T has also opened three Connected Learning Centers in Columbus and Cleveland, with another coming online later this year in Akron.

These efforts are part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030. AT&T will distribute 30,000 laptops nationwide in 2026.

What Others Are Saying

Marlene Stout, Executive Director of the Gallia County Council on Aging: “Access to technology is no longer optional—it’s part of everyone’s foundation for learning. These devices will help our seniors stay engaged and connect with family and friends.  We’re grateful to AT&T for helping us put the right tools in their hands at the right time.”

Jackie Young, Executive Director of Camp Fire Sandusky County: “When people think of summer camp, they often envision crafts, swimming, and roasting s’mores over a campfire. While those experiences remain an important part of childhood development, there is also a growing need to expand technology access and digital literacy for the youth we serve. AT&T does an incredible job helping bridge the digital divide in our communities while supporting the evolving needs of young people. We are grateful for this opportunity from AT&T to help every child we serve grow and thrive.”

Wanda Davis, Executive Director, ASC3: “Access to technology is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity. These laptops and backpacks from AT&T will continue to help open doors and unlock a world of learning in our community.”
