AT&T has been connecting Georgia for nearly 150 years. While the technology
has changed, our commitment to supporting a thriving Georgia remains the
same.
As president of AT&T Georgia, I have the privilege of waking up every day with the
mission to connect more Georgians to greater possibility.
To support this mission, over the last five years alone, AT&T invested more than $16.9
billion in our Georgia networks. Recently, we were proud to celebrate the impact of that
investment. AT&T Fiber is now available to more than two million homes and small
businesses in more than 150 communities across Georgia.
This AT&T Fiber milestone is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to building the
modern networks Georgians rely on today and in the future. It’s also a testament to our
dedicated AT&T employees who work every day – rain or shine – to create connections
and to our state and local leaders who have created an environment welcoming of
investment and innovation.
“Reliable internet is critical to keeping Georgia competitive and ensuring every student
and worker in our state can access opportunity, no matter their zip code. This milestone
is another example of how Georgia’s collaborative approach with the private sector is
driving our economy forward. I appreciate AT&T’s commitment to connecting
communities throughout the state with investments like this.”
Governor Brian Kemp
Two million is a significant milestone, and it is a reminder of everything connectivity
makes possible for Georgians. Modern infrastructure helps keep Georgia communities
competitive and ensures more Georgians have access to greater opportunity. This
connectivity helps jobseekers develop skills and enter the workforce, students connect
to online education resources, patients access telemedicine options and companies
operate more efficiently.
What they're saying:
“A modern workforce depends on modern connectivity, and AT&T’s ongoing investment
in fiber infrastructure is opening doors to opportunities across the state. High-speed
internet plays a vital role in workforce development, job creation and connecting
Georgians to education and career pathways. Together, we are building a stronger and
more prosperous Georgia.”
– Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Bárbara Rivera Holmes
“High-speed internet is important in how communities learn, work, and grow. Fiber
infrastructure helps residents build digital skills, supports business expansion, and
connects people to essential resources. AT&T’s fiber expansion enhances connectivity
across our region and supports a stronger future for Albany-Dougherty.”
– Jana Dyke, President and CEO, Albany-Dougherty Economic Development
Commission
Georgia's momentum is unmistakable
It’s demonstrated in Georgia being named the top state in the nation to do business for
the twelfth year in a row!
As Georgia continues to grow, so do the connectivity needs of its communities and
businesses.
AT&T has been connecting Georgia for nearly 150 years. While the technology has
changed, our commitment to supporting a thriving Georgia remains the same.
The future of Georgia is being built right now, and we look forward to continuing to work
with leaders across Georgia to expand modern connectivity and advance economic
growth in every corner of the state.
