AT&T, JAG-MO Team Up to Help Missouri Students Get Career Training
Key insights
One of the most rewarding things I do outside of work is serve as a volunteer board member of Jobs For America’s Graduates – Missouri (JAG-MO). JAG-MO does a great job of offering young people across our state with access to programs that will give them the tools they need to succeed after high school. It doesn’t matter whether they go to college, join the military or enter the workforce; our support will help prepare them for whatever they choose to do.
AT&T recognizes the great impact of JAG in our state, which is why I was pleased to announce a recent $50,000 investment from the company in Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG)-Missouri chapter that will prepare Missouri high school students for success after graduation.
The Pathways to the Workforce Program is an eight-month initiative led by JAG-Missouri that offers students hands-on career readiness training; industry-recognized certifications; entrepreneurship development; and real-world exposure to various career paths.
Missouri First Lady Claudia Kehoe serves with me on the JAG-MO Board. When we made the announcement about AT&T’s support, she said JAG-Missouri “truly prepares students to join the workforce. Through career readiness activities and employer engagement efforts, students have access to the resources they need to succeed after graduation. JAG allows students to develop skillsets through hands-on learning experiences, creating confidence and dependability that seamlessly transfer into the workplace.”
The program, which was launched last fall and will continue through May 2026, includes interactive workshops, field trips, career portfolio building, guest speakers, and showcases where students present their skills to industry professionals. The program concludes with a capstone event celebrating student achievements and connecting them with employers and community leaders across Missouri, which was held in early March 2026.
In addition, select students will have the opportunity to attend the National Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah April 29th – May 1 2026, where they will showcase the skills they’ve gained, network with industry partners from across the country, and explore a wide range of career options.
Missouri students also highlighted the impact of JAG-MO on their lives.
Jeff Berry, the director of Partnerships at JAG-Missouri summed up the impact of AT&T’s community investment:
“This impactful opportunity was made possible through a strong partnership with AT&T, whose support helped expand career exposure and create meaningful, real-world connections for students.”
All told, since 2020, AT&T has contributed $130,000 to JAG-MO.
