Access to reliable connectivity is key to preparing today’s learners for tomorrow’s opportunities. That’s why we are proud to collaborate with the West Broad Street YMCA to launch a new AT&T Connected Learning Center in Savannah.
For more than 80 years, the West Broad Street YMCA has served as a hub for education, wellness, and community support, helping improve quality of life and providing pathways to economic advancement for Savannah residents.
The new Connected Learning Center continues that legacy by offering free high-speed internet, refurbished computers and digital resources right in the heart of Savannah. Here, students can complete their homework and learners of all ages can develop digital skills and access resources needed for success in today’s digital world to pursue meaningful careers.
“At the West Broad Street YMCA, we’re committed to strengthening our community through programs that empower individuals and families to reach their full potential. AT&T opening a Connected Learning Center at the West Broad Street YMCA will help us continue that mission by bridging the digital divide and opening doors to new opportunities for Savannah residents,” said Tonia Williams, Director of Operations and Childcare Director, West Broad Street YMCA. “With access to high-speed internet, computers, and digital skills training, more members of our community will be equipped for the jobs of today and the future.”
“The West Broad Street YMCA has been a cornerstone of this community for generations, providing education, mentorship, and resources that change lives. The addition of an AT&T Connected Learning Center expands that legacy by ensuring our residents have the digital tools and training they need to thrive in an increasingly connected world,” said Chairman Chester A. Ellis, Chatham County Board of Commissioners. “We appreciate AT&T’s continued investment in Chatham County and for creating bright, connected futures for our residents.”
At AT&T, we understand digital access and skills are the foundation of a modern workforce. Whether preparing for roles in technology, automotive, logistics, or hospitality, digital skills are indispensable.
As the state of Georgia has experienced record-breaking economic growth, including historic economic development investments in the Savannah region, this Connected Learning Center is designed to help residents connect to career resources, develop new skills, and prepare for the evolving demands of today’s workforce.
“AT&T’s collaboration with the West Broad Street YMCA to open a Connected Learning Center is a powerful example of partners coming together to invest in the future of our community. This Connected Learning Center is a wonderful resource and a gateway to education, job readiness, and economic empowerment,” said Mayor Van Johnson, II, City of Savannah. “By providing access to technology, resources, and connectivity, we are helping close the digital divide and creating pathways to prosperity. We appreciate AT&T’s investment in Savannah and the work they do to ensure more Savannah residents have the connectivity they need to succeed.”
At AT&T, we believe connection is more than technology – it’s about people. With the opening of this Connected Learning Center at the West Broad Street YMCA, we are helping ensure more Savannah students, parents, and job seekers are empowered to shape their own future. By expanding access to connectivity and digital resources, we are not just helping to close the digital divide – we are opening doors to possibility.
