AT&T has expanded its 5G network in Ohio, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. AT&T added more than 30 new cell sites across Ohio in 2024, to enhance mobile coverage and capacity across the state.
AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and secure connectivity to more than 310 million people in over 25,700 cities and towns nationwide. The new cell sites in Ohio are located across 26 Ohio counties, including Brown, Clermont, Crawford, Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Greene, Guernsey, Hamilton, Hancock, Highland, Holmes, Lake, Licking, Lorain, Lucas, Montgomery, Ottawa, Perry, Pickaway, Richland, Seneca, Stark, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, and Warren.
These network enhancements help Ohioans get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play. And it’s giving first responders on FirstNet®, Built with AT&T – America’s public safety network – access to always-on, 24-hours-a-day priority and preemption across voice and data.
The new Ohio cell sites also bring additional access to Band 14 spectrum. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet® – the only nationwide communications network created with and for public safety. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked exclusively for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.
From 2019 to 2023, AT&T invested nearly $2.9 billion in our wireless and wireline networks in Ohio. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and their businesses.
