David Lewis to Serve as President, AT&T Heartland States

AT&T has named David Lewis as President, Heartland States, AT&T.

Lewis is a dynamic and experienced leader with a proven record of achievement in business and public service.

As President, Heartland States for AT&T, Lewis leads AT&T’s policy, philanthropy, and community engagement initiatives across Michigan and Ohio. Since joining the company in 2009, Lewis has played a major role leading successful legislative, regulatory, and community engagement initiatives for AT&T in multiple states.

Lewis drove the development and execution of Believe Detroit, the groundbreaking AT&T employee and community engagement initiative, to support educational opportunities, academic achievement, and a path to self-sufficiency for residents of Detroit.

His business leadership includes serving as Chairman of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also serves in business leadership roles as a member of the board of directors for the Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit Economic Club, and the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. Lewis also serves on the Board of Directors of Walsh College.

Prior to his joining AT&T, Lewis served as Regional Director for U.S Senator Evan Bayh in Indiana. In 2003, Lewis was appointed as Indiana’s Clerk of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Tax Court. Lewis then served as Vice President of the Government Non-Profit Healthcare Group for JP Morgan and Chase before accepting a role with AT&T Indiana in 2009 as Director of External and Corporate Affairs.

A native Hoosier, Lewis is a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned a master’s degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University. David Lewis and his wife, Tralicia, are the proud parents of two adult children.
