I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible efforts our AT&T Believes volunteers in Washington have made this spring on both sides of the state. They’ve supported the work of non-profit organizations in the community. Giving back to the communities where we live and work is an essential part of how we connect with purpose.
Thirty-two AT&T employees volunteered with the Everett Food Bank to sort donated food, distribute food to clients and bag and box food for offsite locations. The Everett Food Bank is operated by Volunteers of America Western Washington to tackle hunger and connect Everett-area residents with other basic needs. Our AT&T Believes volunteers were grateful to supply some “people power” to the food bank’s operations last month.
In Spokane Valley, over a dozen AT&T employees and associates supported the 2023 Feed My Starving Children Inland Northwest MobilePack event. Volunteers packed nearly 25,000 meals that will go to different countries around the world where families lack food.
The AT&T Believes team in Washington also supported the Heroes Homestead 3rd Annual Silkies Walk at Riverfront Park in Spokane. Heroes Homestead supports veterans and their families making the transition back to civilian life. AT&T provided hydration stations for the more than 140 veterans and families who participated, and our very own Shantell Prater hosted as co-Master of Ceremonies for the event.
Veterans have a special place in the AT&T family. For more than 100 years, we’ve supported active-duty service members, their families and veterans. Our Employee Resource Group, AT&T Veterans, proudly has over 6,200 members.
My favorite aspect of working for AT&T is the people – my coworkers and colleagues – and I love that they share their awesomeness with communities across Washington State!
