I don’t have to tell you we are in the middle of an unprecedented event that is challenging all of us. Now, more than ever, AT&T understands how important it is to connect people to the resources they need. We’ve listened to our elected officials and to our employees about areas of greatest hardship and we wanted to take a moment to share where we’ve allocated resources in recent days. We care about the communities we serve and want to do our part to address food security and necessities that have grown exponentially in the past month.
In Nebraska, AT&T is focused on supporting the needs of those who are struggling the most during these precarious economic conditions as a result of COVID-19. Governor Pete Ricketts thanked AT&T for stepping up during hard times.
- Center for People in Need – $23,000 from the AT&T Foundation to provide services and programs to low-income people that address their basic needs and help them achieve economic independence. The Center’s services include food distributions, a diaper bank, household goods distributions, emergency services, English language classes, educational opportunities, and employment training.
- People’s City Mission – $15,000 from AT&T to assist those who are struggling with food assistance, shelter and clothing, meeting people’s basic needs. The People’s City Mission has seen a 60% drop in volunteers as a result of COVID19.
