With summer vacation, travel and tourist season approaching, we’re working to ensure people in Connecticut – residents and tourists alike – stay connected.
Over the past eight months, AT&T has added 13 new sites to its wireless network in locations across Connecticut. These new AT&T sites will enhance wireless coverage and capacity for families, businesses, visitors and public safety on FirstNet®.
Some beachgoers will see an upgraded AT&T wireless experience thanks to new sites in Milford and Old Saybrook. In Durham, three new sites will help provide enhanced coverage at the Durham Fair Grounds. The grounds at the Goshen Fair and Woodstock Fair will also see enhanced coverage due to these new sites.
Areas served by the new sites are:
- Bridgeport
- Meriden
- Milford
- Old Saybrook
- Goshen
- Greenwich
- Durham
- New Hartford
- Darien
- Stamford
- Woodstock
“We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected, especially during the summer,” said John Emra, President – AT&T Atlantic Region. “These new network resources will help residents, businesses and visitors get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play. And we have a responsibility unlike any other network provider to support the public safety mission by bringing Connecticut first responders greater access to the reliable connectivity they need through Band 14 and FirstNet.”
“We applaud AT&T for its continued investment and commitment in Connecticut, enhancing the wireless experience for residents and visitors across the state,” said CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima. “Residents and businesses benefit from enhanced wireless service, as faster speeds and streamlined connectivity boost productivity, efficiencies, and opportunities for economic growth, especially as summer begins and tourism increases.”
These new sites are in addition to a recent announcement made by AT&T and Governor Ned Lamont on April 28, 2025. Speaking at the MTA’s Stamford station, Governor Lamont highlighted a $6 million investment from AT&T and the advanced technology installed at strategic intervals along the Metro North rail line. More than 30 new AT&T sites have been installed over the past several years between New Haven and the New York border, enhancing wireless coverage and capacity for commuters and riders.
Some of these enhancements also support first responders and the extended public safety community on FirstNet, Built with AT&T – America’s public safety network. Several of these new sites bring Band 14 spectrum to their service areas. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet.
From 2020 to 2024, AT&T invested nearly $500 million in its wireless network in Connecticut. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance.
