AT&T has contributed $45,000 to the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation, to help low-income Hispanic students enrolling as first-year students in college through the University Scholarships program.
“Continuing education is critical to building better futures for our young people, and the support provided by AT&T will help many Hispanic students pursue educational opportunities that might not be possible otherwise,” said Maricarmen Huelga Aldana, President of the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
The New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit community organization formed 32 years ago. The Foundation’s purpose is to cultivate and promote Hispanic heritage within the New Orleans community and the greater region.
The Foundation’s Scholarship Program supports and encourages the academic achievement of Hispanic students at local high schools by providing them with income-based and merit-based educational scholarships.
“The New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s scholarship program is a vitally important program that is opening doors to better futures for the community’s Hispanic youth, and the support from AT&T reflects their long-standing commitment to education and opportunity,” said Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Lambert Boissiere.
“We are also committed to building the critical connections with community organizations that share our dedication to the strength of the communities where we live and work.”
Sonia Perez — President, AT&T Southeast States
“For more than 140 years, AT&T has worked to keep Louisiana connected,” said Sonia Perez, president, AT&T Southeast States. “While that is most often through technology and high-speed services delivered by our wired and wireless networks, we are also committed to building the critical connections with community organizations that share our dedication to the strength of the communities where we live and work.”
Our support of the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation is part of our work to strengthen our communities by supporting organizations that are helping build better futures.
