AT&T customers and FirstNet subscribers in Hawley got a big boost in wireless connectivity. We’ve added a new cell tower to enhance the area’s 4G LTE coverage and help give residents and first responders faster, more reliable wireless service. Our investment will help customers get the most out of their mobile devices.
“We consistently work to provide better coverage for Minnesota’s communities.”
Paul Weirtz – President, AT&T Minnesota
“At a time when technology is proving to be even more essential for communication, AT&T customers can rest assured that our company is continuing to invest in our network and new technologies to make connection easier,” said Paul Weirtz, president of AT&T Minnesota. “We consistently work to provide better coverage for Minnesota’s communities. And we’re investing in our wireless network in Hawley and across the state to accomplish that.”
At AT&T, we’ve invested more than $300 million in our Minnesota wireless network during 2017-2019. Last year, we made nearly 950 network enhancements across Minnesota, including new cell sites, additional network capacity, network upgrades and small cells. From 2010 to 2019, AT&T invested nearly $1.2 billion in our Minnesota network.
Our investments have increased reliability, coverage and overall performance for residents and businesses, which is essential for connecting our customers with family, friends and colleagues – no matter the distance.
Expanding our network in the state has given AT&T the most wireless coverage in Minnesota.
FirstNet: Transforming Public Safety Communications
Our investments have also improved critical communications services for Minnesota’s first responders using the FirstNet network.
We’re honored to work with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) to build and manage FirstNet – the only nationwide, high-speed broadband communications platform dedicated to and purpose-built for America’s first responders and the extended public safety community. And we take our responsibility to deliver FirstNet seriously.
