Appreciation for First Responders

First responders at more than 100 stations and departments across eastern North Carolina received a tasty “thank you” recently.

The AT&T FirstNet team, working in conjunction with the In Home Experts team, delivered over 200 pizzas and 252 boxes of baked goods to express appreciation for the men and women who are serving their communities with courage and commitment during the pandemic. Local businesses, which also wanted to show their appreciation, provided the food.

“I want to thank AT&T FirstNet for what they have done for our department,” said Chief Michael Stophel of the Rocky Point Volunteer Fire Department in New Hanover County. “The service is top-notch. We also greatly appreciate the pizza! Gestures likes these go a long way in building the relationship and trust in a provider that will continue into the future.”

FirstNet is a nationwide broadband network designed to help first responders work better and faster, to interoperate and to save lives. A public-private partnership between the FirstNet Authority and AT&T, it is designed to meet the unique needs of public safety from coast to coast and everything in between. FirstNet represents a significant commitment by AT&T, which will invest about $40 billion over the life of the contract to build, operate, deploy, and maintain the FirstNet network.
